Oh, and don’t worry – with our tips, you can use materials you already have and won’t have to waste time or money by buying various products and cleaning solutions.

So, without further ado, here’s how we ensure that every part of every home is thoroughly cleaned.

Issue: Dust

Cleaning Tip: Use coffee filters or a tennis racket first

Method:

Dust will come back. It will always find a way to settle back onto surfaces across your home. And when you use a cloth to wipe it away, trust us, it’ll be back far quicker than you’d expect.

So, a great alternative is to use a coffee filter! These filters are made of a particular kind of paper and are extremely thin. Due to their nature, they are amazing tools to use to remove dust from small/ easy-to-reach surface areas.

If you aren’t a coffee person, no worries! Simply take out the upholstery or pillow and cushion covers and whack the dust out of these surfaces. And this exercise works wonders as an outlet for stress and frustration too!

Issue: Pet Fur

Cleaning Tip: Use duct tape

Method:

Getting used to caring for pets and understanding how to keep your home tidy is a big task. And when you start seeing fur on all your upholstery and in all corners of your home, it’s frustrating.

Well, here are a few easy ideas to remove pet fur from your home.

  • When fur accumulates on your couches, chairs, beds, etc., try using duct tape to solve the issue. Take a sponge or cloth, wrap it with duct tape, and get to work. Add more duct tape as you keep working, and the contraption accumulates hair.
  • You can also use rubber gloves to remove hair.

Issue: Dusty Walls

Cleaning Tip: Use floor cleaning tools

Store-bought floor cleaning tools are designed to pick up lint and dirt quickly. These tools are a lifesaver as they can be used to get the dust off your walls.

Method:

  • Use the long handle of the cleaning tool to help around the house!
  • All this step takes is to use the handle and gently bring it even messier.

Issue: Spills On Your Driveway

Cleaning Tip: Use sawdust

Sawdust is incredibly absorbent and makes it perfect for soaking up and removing spills from driveways and garages.

Method:

  • Pour a good measure of sawdust on top of the spill.
  • Allow it to sit on top of the spill for about 20 minutes.
  • When the time is up, just brush or vacuum away the sawdust!

Issue: Shoe Marks

Cleaning Tip: Use a tennis ball

Use a tennis ball to get rid of some scruffs on the floor.

Method:

  • Rub the mark with a tennis ball. It’s just that simple!

Issue: Hard-to-Reach Places

Cleaning Tip: Use A Toothbrush

Unable to get into small spaces and little corners? Well, all you’ll need is an electric toothbrush to save the day, thanks to its vibrations!

Method:

  • Spot-test a tiny area to work on first.
  • Then turn on the brush and scrub away, and always remember to throw the brush away after use.

Issue: Grout

Cleaning Tip: Use A Bleach Pen

Grout between your tiles doesn’t look great at all and seems challenging to clean up – which is one of the main reasons why we avoid cleaning it – for as long as possible. Plus, you will need some specialised tools to scrub the grout to remove it.

If you don’t want to spend all day scrubbing at the grout, you can use a bleach pen instead!

Method:

  • Locate all the small spaces with grout.
  • Using a bleach pen, target only the grout (saving you from getting bleach on your tiles).

However, do not use bleach on coloured grout.

Issue: Dirty Microwaves

Cleaning Tip: Use lemons or limes

If you’ve been ignoring those stains, grime, and grease buildup in your microwave for a while, you’ll notice how hard this sort of debris is to remove and how bad your appliance smells.

Plus, this grime can build up within the air vents and heating rods of your microwave, thereby damaging it and reducing its functionality. One of the essential cleaning tips here is to just use lemons or limes to get the job done.

Method:

  • Fill a bowl with water and add a slice of lemon or lime to it.
  • Set the microwave on high for one minute.
  • Then, place the bowl inside and allow the water mixture to steam for about five to ten minutes.
  • At this point, the hardened food bits and grease will be loosened because of the citric acid and steam.

This method will leave you with a clean, shiny microwave with a refreshing citrus smell!

Issue: Fingerprints

Cleaning Tip: Use Stale Bread

Those pesky fingerprint marks on your appliances or on the glass top of your coffee table are hard to get out of. No matter how you clean it, they always seem to get smudged and end up looking even worse.

Well, what if we told you that you could use some stale bread to remove fingerprints effectively? The starch and the texture of bread help absorb oils from fingerprints and wipe them away.

Method:

  • Add a couple of drops of water to a piece of stale bread.
  • Gently rub the bread on the fingerprint marks, and watch them disappear like magic!

These cleaning methods work in a pinch; however, we do recommend having your home professionally challenged, as they aren’t meant to be relatable to anyone.

Just a couple of times a year, and you’ll find that you have less and less to clean as time goes on.
